9 Steps of Plastic Recycling
Recycling is one of the most important actions currently available to reduce these impacts and represents one of the most dynamic areas in the plastics industry today. Recycling provides opportunities to reduce oil usage, carbon dioxide emissions and the quantities of waste requiring disposal. Plastic recycling is turning scrap or waste plastic into forms of new plastic material by going through several processes/steps.
9 Steps of Plastic Recycling
Step 1. Collect plastic waste from various houses and facilities.
Step 2. Sort out plastics into different types in a recovery facility.
Step 3. Compact sorted plastics into square and tight bales by using a baler, to save in transportation and storage. Whether using vertical baler or horizontal baler and Manual baler or Automatic baler, It all depends on the waste volume collected as well as the financial budget.
Step 4. Wash plastics by a specialized washing machine to remove paper labels, adhesives and other impurities.
Step 5. Shred plastics into small pieces by using a shredder or crusher. For efficiency purpose, automatic feeding the material into the shredder by a conveyor is a good solution.
Step 6. Pack or bag the shredded plastics into boxes or bags. Bagging and baling machine is a good solution here.
Step 7. Further identify and classify plastics through chemical tests
Step 8. Melt, filter and extrude these clean plastic shreds into the form of pellets
Step 9. Plastic pellets are delivered to plastic manufacturing facility to make new forms of plastic products.
